Who do you try to reach with the course of Coaching Academy Europe?
The current program is mainly geared to offer individuals interested in "Life Coaching" an opportunity to learn. It is not important whether a person comes form a private background or has developed an interest in coaching certification for business purposes, both for professional development or as a start into a new career.
Do I need to have any previous expertise or prerequisites to participate in the course?
No, you don't. Our course has been developed specifically in a way that allows people with an interest to find an initial entry into the field of coaching without prior knowledge an opportunity to participate and become certified.
How long does the course take on average and do I need to plan for homework and any other additional time?
The core portion of the course lasts for 16 hours. This time is conducted together with a Master Coach and the other course participants online. In addition there is a homework assignment at the half way point of the course (at the end of the first day for two-day courses, and at the end of day two for four day courses). To complete this homework assignment you should plan to use about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Will I have sufficient knowledge after completion of the certification test and this course, to start my own coaching business?
The CAE program will provide you with the basic foundation of coaching in an interactive learning approach. The subject of coaching is a very complex and extensive field, too large to learn everything in 16 core hours. Besides our training, you will need to add practical experience, unless you already have a coaching practice or related business.. This situation is very comparable to getting your drivers license. After successful completion of the driving hours and the final test, you have all the tools you need to drive a vehicle. Still it will take additional time to get really comfortable and develop a routine. For the creation of your own coaching company - as with the creation of any company - you will need some entrepreneurial abilities, combined with a good business sense to supplement your coaching knowledge.
Which tools or technical capabilities do I need to participate in the course?
First and foremost you need a computer (PC or MAC) and a good, stable internet connection, preferably broadband. A headset will make the experience better. Alternatively, you could use your computer speakers and a microphone. It is also possible to attend the course by calling in through a phone line, if you can’t get a headset or attach speaker and microphone to your computer.
What do I need to do if something happens and I have to cancel my class on short notice?
Generally we allow you to move your booked course participation to one of our other courses. If you notify us less than 48 hours before the start time of your booked course, we have to charge you with a fee of 49 Euro to move your participation date.
Is this certification program only available via the internet or will there be any real in person seminars?
For now we are offering our courses via the internet. In case you are particularly interested in a seminar conducted in your location, please let us know. Provided we can get a sufficient number of individuals or members of an organization to ask for in-person seminars, we will be happy to schedule such a course for you at a slightly higher fee/cost than the online courses.
